Why GeM Registration?

As per General Financial Rules (GFR) 149 of the Government of India, all Central Government Ministries, all Public Sector Undertakings, and all State/ UT who have signed an MOU with GeM, Registered Co-operative Societies and Panchayat Raj  are expected to register in GeM Portal to procure goods services and and solution through GeM Portal only by registering as a Buyer.

Who can register on GeM as a Seller / Service Provider?

Any legal entities registered in India are eligible to register on GeM as a Seller/Service Provider including those PSUs and Government Departments who are selling goods and services to other Government Units. The following are the type of Sellers / Service Providers who can register in the GeM Portal:

Sole Proprietorship – Individual doing freelancing nr organization not registered as a partnership firm or Companies under Indian Companies Act.

Partnership Firm – All types of partnership firms like Registered, Un Registered, LLP Partnership Firms

Company – All Registered Companies both Pvt. Ltd and Public Ltd

Trust / Society – Any Registered Trust / Society which sells goods and services

PSU – All Public Sector Undertakings which sell Goods / Services to various Government Entities
